Tinctures
Tinctures are made by soaking the herbs in alcohol for a period of 14 days. Most of the active ingredients are soluble in alcohol; therefore the alcohol is able to extract most of the goodness from the herb.
Tinctures are a potent way of administering herbs. It is important to consult with a trained herbalist before commencing treatment, in order to establish which herbs to use in combination for a certain ailment, as well as to establish dosage.
